the bottom is gorgeous. the lighting and tones are just perfect on the houses. I love this kind of subtle semi-desaturated type of pictures. such a sharp picture. however, you might have overdone the processing on the sky. what mode do you use on the d80? i use aperture priority and it works just fine. I wouldn't suggest using iso500 when you still have that much sunlight.

@Kelvin Chan: thanks for the comments, man. I tried to smooth out the top, maybe it looks a little too smooth now. But yeah, i'll have to switch out of Auto ISO more often.
Nice picture, makes me want to come home!

hey! this is really beautiful! do you live there?. must be real nice.. i like this. you used a 50mm prime? or was it the kit lens? cos wondering if the kit lens is sharp. o. i think a panorama crop would bring out more from this photo. woderful take mate...

@benjamin: yeah, this is the kit 18-135mm lens w/ the d80. I wish aminus3 would host wider pictures; if i crop it, it just gets shorter, not wider :(
and yeah, it's an amazing place to live... i'm sad to have to return to college tomorrow.
I love the colors. Lovely.

@benjamin: I use the kit lens, and although it's nowhere as sharp as my 55mm macro, it's still pretty sharp. I was surprised. The downside is that there are plenty of distortions that you have to deal with and also the vignetting. Oh and the zoom barrel is pretty loose. With the camera hung against my back, just walking can turn the zoom all the way out. It's pretty annoying. For the distortion just fix it with PTLens. It's a great program that automatically fixes the distortion, then you can correct the perspective, and also chromatic abrasion.
